Silicon Valley engineers were trading ideas. Some possessed deep expertise in high-throughput transaction processing from the finance industry. Others focused on communications software for wireless carriers. They realized that linking these two technologies opened many interesting possibilities. Blown away by the potential they glimpsed, they decided to call their company Vayulogic™ because “Vayu,” in Hindi, means “wind.” Several patent applications were filed; more are in the pipeline.

With software development begun in earnest in 2007, the next two years were devoted to refining a solution that enhanced the ability of merchants and brands to touch their customers via text messaging. Incorporated in 2008, Vayulogic launched its initial text messaging service in early 2009. Vayulogic is a Delaware corporation based in Santa Clara, California—the heart of Silicon Valley.
