Victor Varney - Chief Executive Officer & President

Chief Executive Officer & President

Victor has nearly 20 years of high-tech business leadership experience with Intel, Intel Capital, Silicon Graphics, and several start-up teams. During the mid-1990s, as director of marketing for Intel's Developer Relations Group with responsibility for co-marketing and channel programs, he was intimately involved in the rapid growth of the multimedia PC software market. He received an Intel Achievement Award for leading Intel's early engagement with the Web developer community and later ran Intel's worldwide Developer Relations Group. On the Intel Capital team, Victor played roles as both an investment director and general manager in the internal incubation of new business lines and the spin-out of new companies focused on software, online services, broadband, wireless, and mobile markets. More recently, except for a year as VP Marketing on the executive team directing the turnaround of Silicon Graphics, Victor has worked with and advised a number of Web and mobile start-ups in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Earlier in his career, he spent 5 years as an international strategic management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Victor holds MBA and MS engineering degrees from Stanford University and a BE engineering from Vanderbilt University.

Sudhir Bhojwani - Chief Technology Officer, Co-founder

Sudhir brings to Vayulogic more than 14 years of deep experience in developing software at the intersection of mobile, information technology, and social networking sites. This experience led to his inspiration to co-found Vayulogic and serve as its CTO. He was an architect on the industry-leading SDP project at AT&T, where he designed the next-generation AT&T wireless data network. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Engineering and Architect at eTurn, where he was responsible for delivering a first of its kind professional network on the web. He has also worked as an architect and product manager at companies including BEA Systems, Sonoa Systems, and Accenture. Sudhir received the Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science) from the University of Pune, among India’s premier universities.

David Martin - Software Architect, Co-founder

David brings to Vayulogic 17 years of experience in software design and product development. Having provided software engineering expertise to numerous Silicon Valley startups and Fortune 100 companies, David plays a key role in helping to define and develop Vayulogic technology. Earlier in his career, David co-founded Object Guild, Inc. and as Director of Engineering successfully delivered software products supporting high-performance XML-based information interchange for B2B companies and consulted on software engineering to such clients as MCI Telecommunications, Instill Corp, Infoseek, and Objectivity Inc. David holds a BS in Computer Science from Northern Michigan University.

Christopher Moropoulos - Vice President & General Counsel

Chris’s experience in advising California technology ventures and entrepreneurs is exceptionally broad. In Silicon Valley, he has created strategies and handled diverse commercial transactions, licensing, M&A, litigation and investigations for leading players in the semiconductor industry. He founded a boutique law firm and served as Director of Commercial Transactions and Licensing at Atmel Corporation. Previously a trial lawyer in Southern California, he joined Intel to manage high profile disputes and litigation. During more than a decade at Intel, he also developed internal systems for enhanced protection of trade secrets, personnel, and competitive information and was awarded a U.S. patent and the Intel Achievement Award. He was later responsible for the legal affairs of Intel’s business, product, and intellectual property initiatives for the Ultra Mobile and New Business Groups and Intel Capital’s New Business Initiatives. Chris counts among his pre-law accomplishments the development of Sidewinder air-intercept and TOW anti-tank weapon systems as well as military and commercial undersea acoustic systems. His B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering is from UC Santa Barbara; his J.D. is from Loyola Law School, where he was a Law Review Editor. Admitted to the state and federal courts in California, Chris is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

For over 20 years, Bill has optimized the potential of people, revenues, and profits of small to Fortune 500 companies in the foodservice industry. Adept at assessing business dynamics, he is swift to align people around Vayulogic’s critical business objectives. His breadth of experience stretches from scaling operations to franchise development for notable companies including McDonald’s, Saga Corp., Pizza Hut, and the 500-unit chain, Round Table Pizza, which he has most recently served as a Corporate Officer and Executive Vice President of Operations. Within 8 years, Bill built an organization operating over 150 restaurants generating revenues of over $135 million.

Joe Chouinard - Advisor

Joe Chouinard - Advisor

In his 20+-year career in the financial services industry, Joe has spearheaded development of groundbreaking product and service initiatives, many in e-commerce and mobile commerce. His teams consistently delivered significant revenue growth through effective strategy creation and execution in U.S. and international markets. He was SVP Product and Business Development at StepNexus, whose technology enabled service providers to securely provision and manage applications, data, and content on mobile phones and other devices. Previously, over more than a decade with Visa International, he served as VP Global Strategy, VP New eCommerce Channels, and VP Electronic Commerce. In 2000, he co-founded and for two years co-led the Mobile Payment Forum, the first cross-industry mobile commerce consortium. Currently an independent consultant on products and strategy, Joe holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Oregon.

Paul Gubiotti - Advisor

Paul Gubiotti - Advisor

Paul brings 35 years of financial services experience and a deep understanding of operations, finance, and risk management to Vayulogic. His background in the international credit/charge card arenas includes working with businesses across many cultures in more than 50 countries. He was Senior Vice President of Global Operations, Diners Club International, a subsidiary of Citigroup, where he developed operations policies and designed and implemented supportive systems including ones for transaction processing, multi-currency cross-border settlement, and credit/fraud detection. In that role, Paul also conducted training sessions worldwide on effective financial services practices. Previously, he served Citigroup as Vice President Financial Control and prior to that as a financial analyst. Paul holds an MS in Industrial Management, Polytechnic University, and a BE, Electrical Engineering, Manhattan College.
